Aims
Behavioural Science and Public Health is an open-access, peer-reviewed, electronic journal aiming to promote greater integration between behavioural and social science research and public health strategy, commissioning and practice. It aims to promote shared learning between, and influence the practice of, those working in academic settings and those working directly to influence public health outcomes.
Scope
The journal invites contributions on any topic relevant to the application of Behavioural and Social Science to Public Health, including the development and evaluation of health interventions, services, education and training; development or application of behaviour change theory, or other theory-driven approaches. Submissions can include rigorous empirical research articles of any research design, systematic or scoping reviews and/or meta-analyses, process evaluations, study protocols, evaluations of training and health education initiatives, and opinion pieces.
In particular we welcome articles representing collaborations between those working in Public Health and academia. Academic research should include accessible and clearly explained implications and recommendations for practice, supporting the potential for impact of the research. Submissions from public health commissioners or practitioners should clearly express the parameters and contexts within which their work was conducted to facilitate greater understanding of this within the academic community.
